Proving yet again that they are clueless on conservatism

The Washington correspondents for the UK Telegraph are just like the rest of the MSM, proving how clueless liberals are when it comes to conservatives. Now in all fairness the article is titled “The top US conservatives and liberals” however we’ll focus on the “conservatives” on this list since liberals are irrelevant anyway.
Perhaps a better title for this would have been “The top US liberals and Stalinists, with a few conservatives here and there”. That’s what it boils down to and it’s a joke from top to bottom!
Starting at 100 General Peter Pace. A great man, I personally don’t know if he is conservative but after the way the stalinists in congress have treated him who could blame him.
Moving down to 96 Ron Paul. Please, having this man within three time zones of a list of conservatives is insulting. Hillary is more conservative than Ron Paul.
93 Michelle Malkin. Having Michelle any lower than 20 proves that it was liberal idiots who came up with this list but I’ll press on.
85 Clarence Thomas. As one of only 4.5 (Anthony Kennedy is only 1/2 conservative) conservatives on the Supreme Court I dare say he rates much higher than this.
78 Brent Scowcroft. He has been a loyal Republican over the years but calling him conservative, no.
75 Michael Chertoff. The Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security is not conservative; he has been a big supporter of amnesty for illegal immigrants, not a conservative resume enhancement.
66 James Baker. I had more respect for James Baker before he led the bend over and grab the ankles study group whose recommendations amounted to us snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq. Nope not in the top 100.
62 Antonin Scalia. I refer to my comments about Clarence Thomas and add that he has been the anchor on the conservative side of the Supreme Court for over 20.
54 Fred Thompson. Having the only conservative in the Presidential race ranked 54th (and I don’t count anyone under 10% because by now if they were going to convince people they deserved the nomination they would be doing better than 10%) shows how ignorant the so called “enlightened” among us really are.
47 Joe Lieberman. Ok he is solid on terrorism but not much else, definitely not deserving of the 47th spot on this list.
44 Sean Hannity. He probably doesn’t deserve to be 44th on this list but his pimping for Rudy lately means that in the eyes of conservatives it’s probably fair.
38 Jack Abramoff. Ok how is it that Jack makes this list but Norman Hsu doesn’t make the liberal list?
32 Bill Simon. Simon is slightly right of Arnold which means he’s slightly left of the rest of the country. Unsure why he makes this list and Tom McClintock the leader of conservatism in California is not.
23 Roger Ailes. Not sure how one of the smartest men in media drops to 23.
21 George W. Bush. I am not certain how he made this list let alone the top 25. He’s generally correct on foreign policy, and taxes but not on much else. If you compare him to Clinton then ok he’s conservative, if you compare him to Reagan he doesn’t come close.
Ok on to the top ten. Many of these are a complete joke, I don’t know how the writers put these down with a straight face but here it goes.
10 Mitt Romney. Someone missed a few zeros in this ranking. In terms of conservatism the former governor of the most liberal state in the US doesn’t make a top 1000 list of conservatives. He’s now using his own money to buy votes for the republican nomination. This along with many others makes no sense if the person doing the ranking has an IQ over room temperature.
9 John McCain. I will give McCain credit he is more conservative than Romney, which places him about 998 on my list. He’s strong on defense except where it comes to immigration. He’s weak everywhere else.
8 John Roberts. Not certain if I would have him 8 on my list because I think the jury is still out on his conservatism and how much influence he has with the wishy washy Anthony Kennedy but I won’t gripe too much about this one.
7 Robert Gates. The last thing we needed after Don Rumsfeld is a moderate in control at defense but that’s what we have.
6 Dick Cheney. This is one of the few I agree with. I am not certain about how much influence he is having with the President but as for being conservative ranking him 6th on this list is probably fair.
5 Rush Limbaugh. Not certain how they get Rush down to the five spot in this list given that he is conservatism. Rush is about the only thing that has kept the Republican party from selling its soul to the likes of Rudy, McCain, Romney, Arnold, etc.
4 Newt Gingrich. Newt is a good man, a smart man. Hasn’t always made the best decisions in life but who has? His cave in during the budget battle of 1995 however drops him out of the top ten for me.
3 Matt Drudge. Actually I have Drudge #2, his website is the standard for which all media is judged since the mid 90’s
2 David Petraeus. A solid military man, will get most of the credit for the successes of Iraq and deservedly so. I don’t know how conservative the man is in general but I won’t argue here.
The top conservative and the greatest joke in either list is…………….
1 Rudy Giuliani. Called the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination, this is a joke. The only thing that is clear is that if Rudy is the nominee then Hillary will be the next President. Conservatives don’t support Rudy, won’t support Rudy, he has a bad record on the 2nd amendment, abortion, immigration, the list goes on. At the end of the day the only thing he can hang his hat on is his support for the war and big deal. Hillary supported the war, it takes more than that to be conservative.
