Executive Privilege
June 29, 2007
Well it seems that we are going to have a battle over executive privilege. Democrat Senators are demanding that the White House turn over documents in the flap over the firing of eight US attorneys. Eight people that serve at the pleasure of the president were let go at the president’s prerogative and that is a crime to democrats. Unfortunately there is this document that is called the constitution, for you liberals that’s con•sti•tu•tion, and it defines three branches of government those are:
The Executive branch headed up by the President
The Legislative branch made up of congress
The Judicial branch made up of the federal court system
Now it will surprise many of you liberals to know that all three of these branches have equal power in government. This means that the president is not subservient to the Legislative or Judicial branches of government. This is something that Patrick Leahy and John Conyers don’t seem to understand. How arrogant of them to think that the President must turn over documents to them. My response would be simple, to the point, and concise:
Dear Senator Leahy / Congressman Conyers,
You have no constitutional authority to request the documents that you have requested. The executive branch of government is not subservient to congress. You can move this to the courts if you wish but as the legislative branch has no authority on this matter neither does the judicial branch so any decision rendered by them would not be relevant.Sincerely,
George W. Bush
This would inflame the left but it is the facts. They have nothing to say in this matter, they could litigate this all the way to the supreme court and even if they sided with Leahy and Conyers big deal the White House could refuse to enforce the decision on grounds that this is executive privilege and that would be it. The only thing they could do after that is impeach him and even with Libs in charge of the House they wouldn’t have enough votes to do it.
So much for the French!
June 28, 2007
Oh well so much for the French turning over a new leaf. Barbara Streisand is in France (unfortunately she’s not staying!!) giving concerts, no that’s not fair, Streisand doesn’t give except to democrats so I assume she charged hundreds of euro per ticket, so we’ll say performing concerts. Anyway she’s kissing up to the French and the new French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Sarkozy was quoted as saying “You are the America that we love,” Excellent then I suggest Sarkozy change France’s immigration laws so that Streisand and any other liberals displaced by the advances of conservatism in the US can migrate.
For those of you that are done sorting your sock drawer here is the link.
IMMIGRATION - THE AFTERMATH!
June 28, 2007
As I watched the voting this morning I found it interesting that the many of the senators waited until the result was assured before they voted. Be that as it may we must take time to congratulate those voting in the negative for standing up for the American people, for standing up for the constitution. Regardless of their reasons be them pure or not our system of government won out today. We appreciate the following senators:
Republicans: Domenici (R-NM), McConnell (R-KY), Alexander (R-TN), Allard (R-CO), Ensign (R-NV), Murkowski (R-AK), Barrasso (R-WY), Enzi (R-WY), Grassley (R-IA), Bond (R-MO), Roberts (R-KS), Hatch (R-UT), Brownback (R-KS), Hutchison (R-TX), Bunning (R-KY), Burr (R-NC), Inhofe (R-OK), Isakson (R-GA), Shelby (R-AL), Smith (R-OR), Chambliss (R-GA), Coburn (R-OK), Stevens (R-AK), Sununu (R-NH), Cochran (R-MS), Coleman (R-MN), Collins (R-ME), Thune (R-SD), Vitter (R-LA), Voinovich (R-OH), Warner (R-VA), Cornyn (R-TX), Corker (R-TN), Crapo (R-ID), DeMint (R-SC), Dole (R-NC), Sessions (R-AL)
Democrats: Dorgan (D-ND), Baucus (D-MT), Bayh (D-IN), Nelson (D-NE), Bingaman (D-NM), Pryor (D-AR), Brown (D-OH), Harkin (D-IA), Rockefeller (D-WV), Sanders (I-VT), Byrd (D-WV), Stabenow (D-MI), Webb (D-VA), McCaskill (D-MO), Tester (D-MT), Landrieu (D-LA).
THE IMMIGRATION BILL IS DEAD!!!!
June 28, 2007
Congratulations conservatives we have succeeded in killing the immigration bill. Let this be a lesson to the President, Senators Kennedy, McCain, Graham, and Reid. THIS IS A GOVERNMENT THAT WORKS ON THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, AND WE THE GOVERNED DID NOT GIVE OUR CONSENT FOR YOU TO SELL OUT THE CONSTITUTION, THE RULE OF LAW, AND THE PRINCIPLES THAT THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON!
No money talk from Thompson
June 28, 2007
A spokesman for Fred Thompson declined to discuss how much Thompson is raising. Mark Corallo a spokesman for Thompson correctly states that “It’s exactly what America is sick of.” I couldn’t agree more but let’s talk about money anyway. With June 30 coming up on Saturday the rest of the candidates are going to be reporting how much money they raised but more importantly how much money they have on hand. It’s interesting because the candidates will have spent a large amount of money running around trying to keep from losing ground to the guy not in the race yet.
Thompson is running first or second in every major poll. This all without spending much money, Rudy, McCain and Romney have been running around spending millions only to lose 3-6% in the polls. Most of this we can attribute to Fred Thompson getting close to entering the race and people are finding out about him and liking what they see. The rest of it is John McCain and his backing the immigration bill which will cost him any chance of getting the nomination.
I think we have reached the beginning of the end of the Republican Nomination process. By the time we get to January this will largely be over!
Keep up the pressure on shamnesty!
June 27, 2007
The vote to end debate on the shamnesty bill is Thursday at 10:30am EST. Now is the time, we must keep up the pressure on your senators to vote against ending debate. Make certain your senators understand that you view a vote to end debate as an endorsement of the bill and you won’t support with votes or with contributions any senator who endorses the shamnesty bill.
Do not let them tell you that they know more than you about this bill. Senator Voinovich’s meltdown with Sean Hannity today proves that not only have most of these senators not read the bill, their staff’s haven’t read the bill. Stand up to your government, it is your government and if you don’t tell your representatives what you expect of them then they will continue to abuse your trust!
